WHO WE ARE

B.A.S.S.A., Beaver Alum Supporting Student Athletes is a public benefit, Maine non-profit corporation organized to provide educational/developmental support for students involved in athletics at the University of Maine at Farmington and to provide funding for athletics programs at the University of Maine at Farmington.

The net proceeds of the golf tournament will ensure UMF student-athletes are given the support they need to achieve excellence in training, education and competition.  Funds will be allocated for a variety of athletic program needs that support quality experience and holistic development of students through intercollegiate athletics.

Todd is the Founder and President of BASSA and is an ’03 Graduate with honors in Community Health.  He was a member of the UMF Soccer team and was  UMF’s Rookie of the year  (1999), Second Team All-Conference Men’s Soccer  (2001), Captain UMF Men’s Soccer (2001-2002), Second Team All-Conference Men’s Soccer (2002), First Team All (New England) Region (2002), All American- Honorable Mention (2002).  Professionally he is a Sr. IT Recruiter at Pro Search Inc. and has  been successfully helping people achieve their professional goals for over 10 years now here in Maine.  He resides in Cumberland, ME with his wife Jess, 2 sons Max & Drew and their dog Porter.

KATIE BERNIER

After a six year stint teaching middle school math, Katie left the teaching profession to follow her creative passions. She went on to obtain a BFA in Digital Arts and Design and began her career as a graphic designer and illustrator. She currently works for Pulp+Wire, specializing in branding, package design and illustration.

Katie was a member of the UMF field hockey team and received such distinguishing honors as Scholar Athlete (1998-2001), First Team All-Conference (1999-2001), Captain (2001), and MAC Player of the Year (2001).

MICHAEL HAUSER

A 2002 graduate and long term supporter of the athletic program, Michael Hauser actively serves on the board of BASSA since its inception.  After graduating from UMF, Michael has held numerous roles in the healthcare industry. He is currently the Director of Organized Customer Groups for Sanofi, a global pharmaceutical company based in France, where he leads the partnerships with the top US health systems.  Michael and his wife Robin, have two amazing boys Landon (8) and Carter (4) and reside in Charlotte, North Carolina.

MATTHEW BECKIM

Matt is a graduate of UMF and a long term supporter of the athletic program.  Matt actively serves on the board of BASSA since its inception.  He is Vice President of Operations at Medical Case Management Group and resides in the Lewiston, Maine, area.  He is an avid golfer and supports all athletic endeavors on behalf of UMF and BASSA.

JAMIE BEAUDOIN

Jamie Beaudoin became the University of Maine at Farmington Women’s Basketball Head Coach in 2000 and was named Associate Athletics Director in 2010.

Beaudoin captured conference championships in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2007. Beaudoin was the North Atlantic Conference and State of Maine Coach of the Year in 2003 and 2007.

Beaudoin also coached men’s soccer for the Beavers from 2001-2007. Farmington enjoyed back-to-back conference titles (2001, 2002) under Beaudoin. He was the NAC Men’s Soccer Coach of the Year in 2003 and 2006.

A graduate of Orono High School and the University of Maine at Farmington with a degree in elementary education in 1997, Beaudoin was a four-year starter for the men’s basketball program under Coach Dick Meader. During his junior and senior years, he was the team’s captain and was named an NAIA Scholar Athlete each year. At the conclusion of his senior year, he was awarded the Maine Athletic Conference/Fleet Bank Scholar Athlete and the Maine College Basketball and Writers’ Association Scholar Athlete awards for his outstanding efforts in competition and in the classroom.

Beaudoin also played on the highly successful men’s soccer team that had a 43-8-2 record during the three years that he competed. During both his junior and senior seasons, he was named to the National Soccer Association of America First Team All-American, was an NAIA Scholar Athlete, and received numerous awards on the regional and state level.

Upon graduation from UMF, Beaudoin taught seventh grade math for three years at Jay Middle School where he also coached baseball. Before that, he coached girls’ soccer and JV basketball at Mt. Blue High School in Farmington. Additionally, Jamie served as an assistant coach under Dick Meader for the UMF men’s basketball program.

He also owns a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Maine.

Beaudoin resides in Farmington with his wife, Emily.

Josh is an ’03 UMF Graduate with a double major in Environmental Policy and Planning & Geography.  While at UMF he worked at the Health and Fitness Center as a program director helping to organize student and community events. Professionally Josh is a Sr. Process Expert in the sales department at Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield in South Portland. Josh resides in Buxton, ME with his wife Katie ’04 UMF Graduate and their newborn daughter Eleanor.
